Who is Chancer Reese?

So why listen to me?

Because I will tell you the truth about technology. I will be blunt, honest and up front about what works and what is BS dressed up a ball gown.

I will be real open with you because not too long ago I was terrible with computers, too. I admit it…”My name is Chancer. And I am a recovering “techno-phobe”.

You see, I got into a bit of trouble in high school concerning my “mishandling” of a local university’s computer terminal. And no it didn’t involve “hacking” or anything illegal like that. I wasn’t technologically-savvy back then. I just made a very dumb teenager mistake that was very expensive. I barely escaped…

But due to my little “digital drama”, I swore I would never take a job that required me to work with computers, I disliked them so much.

So after I received my bachelor’s degree from Howard University and served a short stint as an Army officer; I slowly, while ping-ponging around, started picking up the basics and learned more about computers. Mostly out of pure self-defense.

After much trial and error (mostly error), I got hooked. I bought a little Atari computer (a very good Apple clone back in the day) and read lots and lots and lots (WHEW!) of how-to books and magazines. Soon I was on my way. People started asking me, the “techno-idiot”, how to fix their machines!

Finally, I was able to return to tech school (at age 40) and specialize in information technology. I learned alot in tech school, but was my experiences as a computer “failure”, that makes me feel so passionately about teaching and training working people on how to use and understand technology.

I have over 10 years of experience in building, installing and maintaining computers and networks in various small businesses, government agencies and educational environments.

This website is designed to be an interactive training resource for the small and home office computer user. I hope through my articles, mini-guide reports and other publications that I can help you save money and understand how to manage your computer system.
